At every level of government, public servants dedicate their careers to serving and helping people just like you. Each year, these servants are recognized during Public Service Recognition Week, the second week in May.
This year, we mark the 34th anniversary of celebrating our public servants. It’s a time that we join together to recognize the dedication of public servants across the country. It is also a time to honor those who have given their lives in service to our nation.
Here at the USDA’s Farm Service Agency, we join Congress in commending our public servants for their outstanding contributions to America’s farmers and ranchers. FSA employees value teamwork and are committed to do right and feed everyone.
Here are a few of the many FSA employees who are working hard to help American agriculture:
“It gives me great pride to make contributions to communities in need through gleaning. As an FSA employee, I am highly aware of our presence in rural America, and am proud to represent us in community “give-backs” such as gleaning. Gleaning provides an opportunity not only for the farmer to make good use of left-over crops, but also for community members to come together to access free food.” — Cynthia Cuellar — National Outreach Specialist, Washington, D.C., 8 years with USDA (3 of those with FSA)
“I really enjoy working with the producers to solve their problems. The best part is being out on the farm with borrowers doing farm visits and inspections. I like being able to give them the support they need to succeed.” — Ronald Clark — Farm Loan Specialist, Connecticut, 38 years with FSA
“As a US Air Force veteran, my core values inspire me to do my very best at all times. ‘Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence in All I Do’ is my framework for approaching life in all of my different jobs, roles and responsibilities.” — Amber Ross — Acting Chief, Kansas City Administrative Services Branch Acting FSA FOIA Officer / Privacy Officer / PII Officer, 10 years with FSA
“Our producers are the most important people in the world, so helping them any way I can is one of the many things I enjoy about my job.” — Miranda Belcher — County Executive Director, Illinois, 3 years with FSA
“I really enjoy getting to meet new people and share USDA’s message to let farmers know about the services that are available to make their lives easier. I love to see people be successful, especially farmers.” — Amanda Robertson — Beginning Farmer Regional Coordinator Tennessee and Kentucky, 11 years with FSA
